On Sunday August 27, our photography club will meet and greet Hollywood movie director/writer Le Van Kiet. He will talk about Cinematography and Storytelling, the movies he has directed, cinematography, and how to improve storytelling in your photography. For those who want to break into the movie industry and work for Hulu, Netflix, this is a really good time to ask questions.
Le Van Kiet directed The Princess (2022, for 20th Century Studios and Hulu) which stars Joey King and Dominic Cooper and The Requin (2022) with Alicia Silverstone. He also wrote and directed Furie (Hai Phượng), a martial-arts crime thriller. Furie was selected as the Vietnamese entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards12. He has been nominated for the Golden Kite Award for Best Feature Film for Dust of Life (Bụi Đời) in 2006.

Vào chủ nhật tuần sau ngày 27 tháng 8 năm 2023, hội có dịp mời đạo diễn Hollywood Lê Văn Kiệt tới chia sẻ về đề tài Cinematography & Storytelling, nhấn mạnh vào yếu tố kế truyện trong phim ảnh và nhiếp ảnh. Anh là một đạo diễn đã có nhiều năm kinh nghiệm làm việc với cả hai nền điện ảnh Hollywood Mỹ và Việt Nam với những tác phẩm hành động như câu chuyện công chúa (The Princess), hay dòng phim kinh dị Cá Mập (The Requin), Hai Phượng (Furie) và Bụi Đời (Dust of Life).
Đây là một người Việt Nam hiếm hoi đã thành danh trong Hollywood. Hội PSCVN rất cần sự ủng hộ cùa tất cả các anh chị chú bác cô dì hội viên để bữa sinh hoạt hôm đó được đông vui và biết thêm về câu chuyện của người Việt Nam tại Mỹ. Anh chị có thể cho các bạn học cũ biết về event này và khuyến khích con em trong nhà có đam mê với phim ảnh tham dự.
